The Institute of Biometeorology of the Italian National Research Council is part of the Agri-Food Department of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and employs a hundred of people with background in agriculture, forestry, physics and economy, as well as social and political sciences. It applies a multidisciplinary approach in several research fields, such as environmental monitoring, sustainable agriculture, rural development and environmental conservation, but also cultural heritage, conservation, both in Europe and in Developing Countries.

IBIMET-CNR runs didactic projects applying innovative didactic methodologies and tools for science and environmental education.

Moreover, motivated by the importance of science dissemination to schools and civil society, IBIMET-CNR runs didactic projects applying innovative didactic methodologies and tools for science and environmental education (Inquiry Based Learning, Game Based Learning, LINE, other methodologies using Apps for quiz, Location Based Games)  in a variety of regional and international projects (e.g. Carboschools; Acariss; Envimobile, Raise, Involen and other..). IBIMET-CNR hosts high school students for work-related learning, with training activities in different research areas.
